Selection

Product selection standards.

Weighted criteria for what may earn a place in Luxurities guides and curated surfaces. Commission potential does not override these weights.

01

Construction

Finishing, hinges, stitching, case integrity, lens mounting, and the tactile sense that a piece was built to last — not just photographed well.

Heaviest

02

Longevity

Will this still make sense in a wardrobe or collection in three to five years? Trend-scale sizing and novelty finishes score lower here.

Heavy

03

Service

Particularly for watches and complex goods: repair paths, warranty clarity, and whether ownership will stay practical after purchase.

Heavy

04

Restraint

Proportion, logo control, and visual calm. A strong edit should feel intentional, not like costume or marketplace noise.

Moderate

05

Provenance

Clear seller context, listing quality, and believable origin stories — especially for pre-owned or secondary-market pieces.

Moderate

06

Value

Price should make sense relative to construction and use case. Value is a factor, not the primary reason something appears in an edit.

Exclusions

What we leave out.

  • Replicas, super-fakes, and goods with uncertain origin
  • Listings with unresolved labor or supply-chain concerns we cannot verify
  • Hype releases without durable service or production logic
  • Undisclosed paid, gifted, or incentivized inclusion
  • Categories where Luxurities cannot write honestly yet — currently handbags and shoes guides are not published for this reason
